Kendrick Lamar and SZA Will Not Perform at Oscars

Kendrick Lamar and SZA Will Not Perform at Oscars, Not all the stars will be attending the Oscars.

Despite their nomination for Original Song, Kendrick Lamar and SZA will not perform their Black Panther collaboration “All the Stars” during Sunday’s telecast.

Variety reports that the Academy tried to secure a performance of the Oscar-nominated song at the ceremony, but the TDE duo will not take the stage.

The other four nominated songs will be performed including “Shallow” from A Star Is Born (Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper), “When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings” from The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (Gillian Welch and David Rowlings), “The Place Where Lost Things Go” from Mary Poppins Returns (Bette Midler and Marc Shaiman), and “I’ll Fight” from RBG (Jennifer Hudson).

Queen, who inspired the Best Picture nominee Bohemian Rhapsody, will open the telecast with a performance featuring Adam Lambert.

Kendrick was also absent from this year’s Grammys, where “All the Stars” was nominated for four awards including Record of the Year and Song of the Year. He won a Grammy for Best Rap Performance for “King’s Dead,” his Black Panther collaboration with Jay Rock, Future, and James Blake.

The 2019 Academy Awards will air live on Sunday, Feb. 24, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC
